It seems that I created this blog and then went on to forget about it! We have been very busy as a team, so I guess that will be my excuse. What have we been doing? Well, there has been a lot of fundraising! Now, we are learning the Swahili language, planning the details of our work with an orphange and a crippled childrens hospital called "Joytown", and gathering the supplies we will need when we get there for the children and for a hospital that provides health care to the Masai tribes. Jodie, Jenny and Carrie will be working with children. Cheryl, Patti and Kelli with be working at the hospital/clinic and traveling out into the Masai tribes. Cheryl will also be speaking at a women's retreat for the local university and churches.
We leave March 6th and will be gone for two weeks. There are still 6 members on the team and we are growing in excitement every day! Please join us in prayer for the following:
- Good health for the team members, their families and those who will be serving with them from Kenya
- Amazing prices as we purchase our airline tickets (the more money we have left the more we can help others when we get there)
- That we will find generosity as we procur medical supplies, art supplies and other items needed
- Safety as we travel
- Team cohesiveness
- Most importantly that God is glorified and His will is done!
